Whether you’re an avid runner, beginner, or first timer, this event is a perfect opportunity for everyone. We invite participants to race in celebration of April’s Blue Ribbon Child Abuse Prevention month.  10K or 5K racers may run in the name of their own or a special child(ren) to celebrate what they mean to them.  The overall runner for both the 10K and 5K will be given a medal and IOLS will mention the child(ren) name(s) Families bring your kids out and participate in our 1-mile walk. The first family to cross the finish line together will receive family passes to TBA amusement parks or various family entertainment!!! IOLS & Pave Org have partnered up to spread awareness of the effects of abuse and to take back control.  We will have a balloon release to commemorate the lives lost to abuse and violence.


Pre Race Day Packet Pick up will be available at Dick Ponds Schaumburg Saturday, April 20th 10am-4pm. 7-8 am Race Day Packet Pick Up (Same Day registration is available $5 increase) 8:30am 10K Run Start 8:45am 5K Run Start/1-Mile Walk Start Award Ceremony & Balloon Release will follow


Busse Woods Trail (Paved Course), Grove 5, Elk Grove Village, IL 10K/5K are both certified courses.  Water stations and bathrooms are available throughout the course.  Parking information and course map is available at www.itsourlittlesecret.org


Top 10K & 5K finishers in designated age groups will receive a medal.  Age group: 11 & under, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & older. Overall 10K & 5K winners will receive awards and/or prizes for 1st place, male and female, 2nd and 3rd place male and female winners will receive awards.  A prize to the overall runner for both 10K & 5K Run male or female will be awarded one night stay at a TBD hotel/waterpark.  Great for family time!! 50 YARD KIDS DASH & BALLOON RELEASE For children 12 & under only.  All participating children will receive a prize.  To commemorate the lives affected from abuse, we will conduct a balloon release before the Award Ceremony.  Children participating in 50 yd dash will receive one balloon.


The mission of It’s Our Little Secret (501c3)is to promote a healthy recovery for the abused children & youth; to stop the destructive future behavioral patterns of the abused toward their own and other children. PAVE stands for Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment is a multi-chapter national 501c3 nonprofit organization that uses education and action to shatter the silence of sexual violence through targeted social, educational, and legislative tactics.
