Home [callout1]It’s Our Little Secret (IOLS) is a non-profit organization comprising exclusively of volunteers dedicated to providing a voice to sexually, physically, and emotionally abused children and teens through advocacy, mentoring, and creative expression. It is our goal to make a difference in the lives of the children and through youth mentoring, “lending an ear”, as well as through expressive art, music and mixed media programs so that they will learn to love themselves and enjoy life; they will learn to live and not just survive. Programs[frame style="modern" image_path="http://www.itsourlittlesecret.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/banner_image6.png" link_to_page="" target="" description="" size="banner_small"] IOLS Run/Walk for Healing IOLS’ first 5K/1-Mile Walk was truly a success. Despite the chilly winds, we had over 100 people in attendance and over 50 children participated in the 50 yard dash and egg hunt. Here are the final race results. Overall Female Winner- Amanda Rapaduski of Algonquin, IL. Overall Male Winner- Michael Schuster of Huntley, IL IOLS Academy for Arts & Healing This 28,000+ square-foot Residential Facility will provide a home to 36 children in the Illinois Foster-care system & will also have a Music Room, Media Arts Lab, Performing Arts Space, Painting Studio, Mixed Media Studio, Ceramics Studio, and the “We Suffer No More” Gallery. Monthly expressive programs will be held on a monthly basis for caretakers, foster care parents as well as abused children and youth. This will allow participants to express, communicate and heal the soul through art and music mediums. Classes provided are called “Creative Expression Sessions” in art, music, ceramics, photography, media arts, literature, dance and “Greening for Tomorrow”. Get InvolvedIt’s Our Little Secret is dedicated to healing, inspiring and empowering children and teens who have been physically and sexually abused by providing innovative life enriching programs, education and opportunities. Our services are FREE to children who qualify. There is no charge to a child, family, partner sites, or service provider. IOLS relies on the generosity from the community to make our programs successful and to enhance the lives of children and youth facing adversities. IOLS patrons include individuals and families, foundations, small businesses to large corporations, and a wide range of community leaders.
